A long day: Boston in the AM to the Brickskeller in DC to end it for the night. An appropriate venue for a number of historical reasons. Brain addled, and something trying to crawl out of my large intestine. Important notes: Alt's Kennedy exhibit looks awesome. Finally got to meet Chris Mah who's there with Sanjeev and Dave. Chris manages to stoke my existing phobia of giant squid to a new level of terror. More and better pics later...

I'm going to be in San Francisco at the end of the month. Oh yes it's one of those, "Where to shop?" and so on. I'm scouting cities look'n to move and get a new job, or go back to school. I've been to San Antonio and Austin so far, can't say I dig either one. I spent some time in Chicago, not much so I might go back. I've been to Baltimore, everyone hates you by default there, and it smelled like pee. So now it's west coast time.
I'm staying close to China town so I'm sure I'll find so…

Ok, So for the longest time I've heard that Tomino first got the nickname Kill em All from Zambot 3. Thanks to the guys over at #shin-getter the entire series has been fansubbed for your viewing enjoyment. I watched it from it's beggining to the end....now I already knew that most of the robots pilots, support personnel, and civilians end up blowing up (dont get me started how messed up having human bombs in a kids show is)....B…

OK, having just seen B00's main page, I realize I've done a disservice by not including the WHOLE masthead file for maximum subversion. Here's the PSD. The logo is global and can't be changed, so turn it off before you poop out your own mastheads...
Best,

I already mentioned this on the TBDX BBS, but I wrote a highfalutin' article about the socio-economic situation aboard the SDF-1. (Yes, I am a fucking nerd.) It's up on the equally highfalutin' web-journal Neojaponisme. Check it out if you get a chance!

Here we are Tuesday, and all is well. Gonna be at work tomorrow with a hangover, and it's "Supervisor's Meeting" day! Oh boy. I can't wait to report on what my department has in the pipeline!
Anyway, just wanted to post something, anything. Does this stuff work? Are the random typings of this IT nerd considered in any fashion? Who know what lurks in the minds of men?
Anyway, peace out, and joy to the toy!

Portland, Oregon. A Tuesday night in February. The rain falls out of the sky like defeated
tears; wet and stupid.
I drove over four hours for this abuse -an
unnecessary press-check; bad service at an overrated, trendy brewpub
whose fare is presently afflicting me with a bubbling mud-pot of
heartburn; and a lonely hotel room coated with cigarette slime and
miles away from the nearest bar, lounge, or weak-willed, bottle-toting,
soft-thighed geekstress.
That's okay, though. I kne…

Yeah, so this past year wasn't a good year for me, money-wise. I realized we put a very large amount of money on our credit cards. Though my purchases of toys weren't really that big a part of it (I did sell a good number of toys this past year to help support my habit), I did spend too much, and that is a symptom of our overall bad monetary habits as a family. So, this year I'm trying to dedicate to getting my financial situation headed in a healthy direction, and the first thing I did was lock…

"...gape in awe at the collection of Jumbo Machinders behind glass, loaned to the exhibition by American Matt Alt, who began collecting the large robot toys when he was young and was, as a result, inexorably absorbed by Japanese culture... "
I'm not sure if this qualifies me for "mack daddy" status but a guy can dream.

"Do you realize that after 10 years of doing this shit we have NEVER had a hot girl who wasn't connected to one of us post to the BBS? We're in the fucking Honeycombe Hideout, dude, NO GIRLS ALLOWED!!!" -- Alt

Cool. In true TBDX style, everyone seems to be hacking the template, now that our stupid headshots are in place. You'll notice the logo gets kind of ugly as a box. I'm open to suggestions. One other thing to do to smooth out whatever theme you use is to add back in the masthead. Here it is, in case you want to download and upload it:

Why can't I work at a company with cool machines like this? I believe this was explained to me to be a sexual torture device of some kind.

I have this great new job and we're really busy this week so I am thrilled to see yet another way for me to waste time obsessing about toys instead of leaping ahead professionally! I have Alen and Erik to thank. You guys are just great. I hope this new site doesn't cut into my Y!JP surfing time . . .

Just look at these guys. What isn't to love about them? They're cheap. They're probably poisonous. They're barely posable. They're totally unpainted. They're GENIUS. They suck in a way that’s right.
